Parents as Partners
Over the past three years we have encouraged all parents to become involved in their child’s learning. Educational research shows that children, whose parents are involved in any form or manner at their school, are more motivated and committed to their studies. It is also important to note that older children are just as reliant on their parents’ support as younger children.
Following from the 2016-17 Academic Year, we are continuing with the Parent’s as Partners Programme to further develop a close partnership with parents, draw ideas, receive feedback and attract more parents to join each NIA respective community. Each section of the school will approach the parents in that section in an effort to meet their specific needs and promote involvement.
Apart from regular contact in Parent Information Evenings and Parent Teacher nights, this year’s plan involves the following:
Term 1: Primary - Mathematics focus, involving parents in Mathematics activities during Maths week.
Secondary – Involvement in International Day and Career’s Information sessions
Term 2: Primary and Secondary – Involvement in Sports Days and School Fair.
Term 3: Primary and Secondary – Preparation and Celebration of a Community Iftar during the Holy month of Ramadan.
Through this involvement we hope that we will promote a greater parental participation in their child’s education.
We will also attempt to re-establish the PTA committee during Term 1
